My vet encouraged me to consider getting a fountain to entice one of my cats to drink more water. I bought a ceramic one from Amazon, and it definitely helped but was difficult to clean. The little submersible pump was made of plastic. It seized up one day so I took it apart. I was horrified by what I saw! It was full of disgusting brown slime. While I cleaned the ceramic parts every week, I never knew that could happen inside the pump housing. How gross! I also never liked that the pump was plastic and sitting in the water my cat was drinking because who knows what toxins were leeching from it and into the water. Then I found Vasa and hooray for this fountain on so many levels!!! It's whisper quiet. I've found that it has to be on a level surface because I originally had it in a spot that was a bit uneven and it would squeak. I especially appreciate that the motor sits outside the water. The plastic is BPA free and super smooth, so cleanup is easy. It's sturdy enough to be washed in the dishwasher, but I do it by hand. Sebastian, Georgia and Levi love their new fountain and they're drinking so much more water. Their vet is happy and so am I. Thank you Vasa for this next level fountain. It's made a huge difference for me and my pets.

A big improvement over a pumped water dispenser, I wish it was clear so my cats could see the wheel move.

I love the fountain and the filters! Our senior cat, who has a kidney condition and drinks a lot of water, eagerly waits for the fountain to be restarted after I wash it in the dishwasher. I love that all parts can be washed except the motor which does not come in contact with the water. The only suggestion I have is it would be great to have an easy way to observe the water level without removing the cover which consists of several parts. A little water level window somewhere on the side perhaps? But otherwise this is a genius product!!!

I am a veterinary nephrologist/urologist who studies stone disease and encouraging water intake is important for stone prevention. I got my two littermate boy cats a water fountain a couple years ago, but neither drank from it. I saw this one at a veterinary conference and bought one when my original fountain broke. One of my cats loves it. The other still won't drink from it. Overall, I'm pretty excited that I found a fountain that at least one of them loves. I also like how easy it is to clean and that it's very quiet.

Finally, a cat fountain without a pump! The waterwheel is silent, easy to keep clean, and I see my cats drinking more than I ever have before. When I first got it, it had a little squeak, but I notified the seller and was immediately sent a replacement piece that solved the problem.

This fountain is effortless to clean (no tiny brushes, no small crevices) AND stays clean much longer than other cat fountains I have owned. The customer service is fantastic and caring.

This fountain has been so good for my kitty. She is elderly and recently diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. She has been drinking so much more, and thankfully, no longer out of the toilet. The first time I put it in the dishwasher, I forgot to set it up before bed. I had put her old water dish out for her in the meantime, so I didn't think it was a big deal. I woke up to her demanding my attention and refusing pets. She led me out of my room, down the hall, and right to where here new, magical water dish used to be. I had to set it up immediately. It seems as though she won't drink out of anything else now. Thank you for this product. It's so easy to clean, and it is one less thing to worry about.

Within 30 seconds of starting up my VASA Waterwheel Pet Water Fountain my 13 year old Siamese mix, King Sam Purr Cat, was drinking from it. My other cat, Brave Bolder Tail Strut, took about a day. Both cats are now taking frequent water breaks to take a sip. I have been using the fountain for about a month and have sent it through the dishwasher several times. No pesky corners to clean. It comes out squeaky clean every time. The VASA fountain is super quiet too. I like that the motor turns a wheel and that the cats have several places to drink from. Both seem to enjoy the little water fall the most. It is well built and the most logical water fountain out there.
